Surf's up! The last couple of days, the waves were climbing to 3' to 4'. And as the surf increases so do the crowds. Our usually quiet stretch of beach where we would see about 20 locals (Tico & gringo) and maybe a dozen tourists is now crowded with 50 or more surfers. The other day as the tide receded, M and I were both back on the beach when some 4-legged locals sauntered down.
They were licking the rocks. (I assume the rocks take the place of a salt lick.) I'm not sure where these horses live. There is a large paddock very close to this beach that is the home to horses and occasionally cows. So maybe these are escapees. They casually licked a few rocks up the beach and just ambled on down past me to destination unknown.
There are many horses in our area. I see farmers riding them along the rocky dirt roads as we travel in our car. The gray horse in the distant was old and thin with a couple of sores on its back. The 2 bays are males. I don't know if they were gelded. These 2 horse are stockier than most of the horse that I see here. And this one below has a long, thick tail. He reminded me of a smaller version of Tango with is blaze & hind socks.
