Always an Adventure

Updated: Aug 12, 2020

We are on our way to our latest, greatest life venture. Generally, we prefer to travel light and agile. We are anything but. Packing up almost all of our two lives into 8 suitcases, a surfboard bag plus massage table is an exercise in letting go of possessions. Our departure from Fresno Yosemite International Airport (who knew Fresno was international?) was very efficient. A one-way Enterprise rental of a Chrysler Pacifica Minivan #chrysler fit the bill for travel needs. With the back seats folded down, we comfortably fit 8 suitcases, 1 massage table, 1 surfboard bag, 2 backpacks, 2 crystal bowl bags and ourselves.

10 Little Luggages all lined up in a row! We broke a record for Volaris #volaris baggage check-in for highest number of bags for the least number of people. We borrowed a luggage scale and Miguel weighed, repacked, and weighed again to make sure that we were under the 50 lbs limit. Sadly, the Volaris desk scale was balanced differently and we were overweight for a couple of cases. Argh! The attendant was almost apologetic. We've flown with Volaris on several trips and find that the staff and crew are always helpful and cheerful. One drawback is that the seats must be designed by the same company as the Toronto subway, the padding is thin and the material is a slippery plastic. Fortunately, our flights are 3 hours or less each. My sacrum wouldn't survive a longer residency.
